The Snowy SuperCats Under 14 AFL side has gone down to the Gungahlin Jets 7-8-50 to 4-10-34 in their second round match in Canberra on the weekend.
The young SuperCats were unable to continue their good form which saw them defeat Ainslie last weekend, but are nevertheless keen to get back on the field next week to make amends.
SuperCats coach Marty Currie said the team got off to a slow start which the Jets capitalized on with a number of quick goals.
"But to their credit, the SuperCats regrouped and got back into the game and had a good go at wrestling the game back off the Jets," Marty said.
With the game evenly balanced at half time, the Jets jumped out of the box with a number of quick goals at the start of the third quarter, again forcing the SuperCats to play catch up footy.
"Again, the SuperCats regrouped and did everything they could to get back into the game and it was pleasing to see their determination to keep fighting," Marty said.
Unfortunately, the gap was just too big to fill in the last quarter and the SuperCats couldn't get the points.
"Overall, I'm really pleased with how the SuperCats are going. We've been getting good numbers to training and everyone is really improving," Marty said.
The SuperCats travel to Belconnen next weekend before their first home game at Snowy Oval on the 22nd of May.
